If your web surfing habits requires the heavy usage of Java and yet you are not allowed to install Java on a public computer such as in a public library, here is a simple solution. Follow this simple step by step tutorial on how to install Java Runtime (JRE) Portable.
- Insert a USB flash drive to your computer.
- Download Java Portable and install. The default destination of the folder is CommonFilesJava, add the USB drive letter at the front, assuming that your USB drive is E:CommonFilesJava.
- When finished installing Java Portable, download the Java Portable Launcher and change the destination folder again. Add E: infront so that the destination folder becomes E:JavaPortableLauncher and click the install button.
- To run Java applet or application, go to ‘my computer’ and then ‘G:JavaPortableLauncher’ and run JavaPortableLauncher.exe which will open a window asking you to select a JAR file.
